belle of the boulevard

Super late blog post celebration.
March 17th 2012 marks the end of the four years of torture obstacles that I experienced as a Nursing Student. True are both good and bad moments in those four years, not to mention frequent ‘WTF?!’ moments, but all in all I have learned (somewhat) and matured (turtle-paced, baby steps people. BABY STEPS!) in a slightly different person from the idiot who enrolled in the Nursing curriculum of the University.
As they said during our freshmen year,

“Nursing may not be your first choice, but in these 4 years you’ll learn to love it.”

Indeed within 4 years classmates and batchmates have realized their calling and learned to love the nursing profession.
Alas, I am still not one of them.
I have tried but not as hard as them, I assume. I spent nights doing requirements, days spent in the hospital doing my duty properly and caring for the people under my care. But I can honestly say that I realized (maybe really early on) that Nursing is not for me.
Maybe I was blinded by the hopes of a good future by taking this said course. It did not help my case as my parent’s decision for me.
There are times that I still regretted taking up Nursing. I’ve wasted time and money  into something that would be of no use to me in the future. But one must not dwell on the past for risk of ruining the future. I’d look at it as an advantage. Do you know how many medical inaccuracies TV series make? Excluding medical dramas like Grey’s Anatomy, House, HawthoRNe etc..
I’ve survived four years. Board Exams are coming in 3 months. Then it’s film school.
The wait is almost over.
